Today's mail and a peek into my bedroom
Guess what came in the mail today? Look at that great note. So professional, eh? (If you can't read it, it says "store credit - per store Mgr. Matt Vernig.")
And for some weird reason they are giving me $107, rather than $100. Perhaps I was $7 bitchier with my last letter...?
This book came today too. I love the title!
Barbara Corcoran, for those of you who don't know, is a real estate guru and master-stager. I believe she's also a correspondent for the Today Show, though I'm not certain since I don't watch TV. (But I have looked at some of her clips on YouTube.)
Now, on to the bedroom. I'm disappointed that I can't find any good before pictures, but I did scare up a couple of bad ones, just to give you a rough idea of what was going on in this room when I started working on the house nearly 8 months ago...
View from the dining room into the bedroom. See how they had some classy curtains hanging in there?
View from the bedroom, looking back out into the dining room. Those double doors were a MESS.
But nowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww:
They're all cleaned up!
This is my favorite-est (Ikea) sconce on the planet.
This is the favorite-est (Ikea) sconce that I busted when I decided to try and let it hang by its wires as I painted around it.
Note: don't do that.
That flower is totally from my garden. :-)
I still need some photography help. I guess I'd better hire a pro for the listing.
I love bright colors!!!!!!!
(I hope my prospective buyers do too...)

But, um, you might be pushing my limits with that combo were I a buyer.
No offense! I think you're rad!
It's okay, I can take it. :-)
I'm guessing the extra $7.00 covers sales taxes. Considering how much of a stink you've put up (and rightly so), they don't want any flack saying you got less than they said they'd give you.
Forgot to add - hiring a professional house photographer is money well spent. I constantly get laughs out of the crap-quality pictures people post online. Small, grainy, poor lighting, etc. Our realtor had a pro do our last place, and the listing included 360* views of a couple of the main areas. MUCH nicer than 95% of what people see online. Since that's how most people start their house shopping, it just makes sense.
Sorry. You lost me as I was trying to figure out how that woman came up with the convergence of beribboned pigtails and large breasts. Would you not need ribbons on your pigtails if you had large breasts because then you'd have somewhere else to put the ribbons? I'm so confused.
That said, I'm all for the loud colors in the bedroom.
I have that comforter. Love it!
Wanna paint my house?
This is Steve's last day in office, there's a lil get together outside his office. He estimated he's talked to at least 5,000 people about running for office in the last 14 years. Just think how many legislators he's made since the early 90s.
Can you believe the only person he knew when he started was Muffy - and she's still here!
