Lol...when I first moved into my house, the guy in the house behind me decided to burn some leaves in his back yard. I had no idea this was his "thing" every fall. I smelled smoke in my house and raced through all floors in a panic thinking my house was burning down.
I'm pretty sure that's what happened to some unsuspecting neighbor of mine, stuccohouse.
Basically the house next to mine (which is vacant and bank-owned, anyone wanna buy it???) has a big old dead tree with limbs which were hanging over into my yard. It's been condemned for removal due to having dutch elm disease. I hacked off a bunch of the branches which were on my side of the fence and burned 'em up.
Trouble was, they created a LOT more smoke than I expected.
And yeah, I guess "little" might not have been the most appropriate description after all... :-)
But I did have my garden hose at the ready, I swear!

Oops indeed! Just for a fire pit kind of an operation?
Do you need a permit to roast marshmellows in your neighborhood?
Hmmm...they called the fire department? Are you sure it was a little fire??
