So, I'm a city person.
While I do know a few things about commonly cultivated flowers and shrubs, my naturalist tendencies terminate at the garden edge. I can barely tell one tree from another, and I certainly don't know anything about mushrooms.
So I have to ask...
Is it just me or do these look sorta like Morels?

This is Brian BTW. I forgot whatever my Google Blogger id was a long time ago. I believe they are morels. And the pic also shows dead oak leaves which is where morels are likely to grow. Nice find!
so what do you do with Morels? halucinate? JNS on 'shrooms? Now THAT will make some good footage for the movie!!!!
